For the uninitiated, a concept album tells one cohesive story from beginning to end. We put CheaterвЂ™s Waltz together as a concept album. Michelle, Howard, and I want to thank everyone who has purchased this album and we hope you enjoy the story! - Jason Hannan About the story This was a difficult undertaking that we hope weвЂ™ve achieved. Secondly, we wanted to create songs that would tell the story but also be able to stand on their own as individual pieces and not require someone to listen to the whole album to appreciate them. The primary goal of this album was twofold: First, we wanted to create a cohesive story that came through in the music without having to explain itself too bluntly. The idea of writing and recording a concept album has been in my mind ever since I heard Willie NelsonвЂ™s groundbreaking concept album, Redheaded Stranger, when I was a teenager. A nasty break up followed by a murder and its aftermath. The album chronicles her new relationship going from good to bad and then to the absolute worst. She decides to take one more chance when she meets a stranger in a bar. The album tells the story of a woman whoвЂ™s had bad luck with love. Our bandmate Howard Parker, who is featured on this album, contributed a beautiful instrumental and was invaluable in helping to arrange these songs.
